YOUR FIRST CHIROPRACTIC VISIT

WELCOME

Welcome

Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a valued member of our practice.  We will request that you complete our intake forms located in the New Patient Center if you have not done so already.  You will then meet with one of our staff to go over the details of your first few visits as well as your insurance benefits.

CONSULTATION

Consultation

Next, you will have a consultation with one of our doctors to discuss your health-related concerns.  From this point forward, your visit will take approximately 45 minutes to one hour. This initial visit is designed for us to learn more about you, your concerns and determine how chiropractic care can assist you in meeting your goals.

EXAMINATION

Examination

After your consultation, one of our doctors will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes and flexibility.  Other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural and physical tests will be performed as needed based on your condition.

DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHIC STUDIES

Digital Xrays

Digital x-rays are then taken based on your examination findings. Images of your spine assist us in determining the underlying causes of your structural concerns, contraindications to certain spinal adjustments, the chronicity of your problem and whether or not a referral outside the office is necessary. Digital films use significantly less radiation than normal x-rays.

YOUR SECOND CHIROPRACTIC VISIT

REPORT OF FINDINGS

Report of Findings

Once your initial visit is complete, we will schedule your next visit for a one-on-one detailed Report of Findings. This allows time for the doctor to review the information gathered on the initial visit and determine the best course for your care.  Your Report of Findings visit takes approximately one hour and will enable you to understand the underlying causes of your health concerns and our recommendations for optimum care.  We encourage you to bring a significant other to this visit.  Our doctors will review the information gathered on the initial visit and answer any questions including:

  • How can you help me?
  • What is my treatment plan?
  • What is the cost of my care?

The doctor will advise you on proper posture and body mechanics and may provide you with at home exercise or stretching instruction to assist in the healing process. You will also be notified if your concerns require consultation with other providers.

  ADJUSTMENT

Adjustment

At the conclusion of your Report of Findings visit, you will receive your first chiropractic adjustment. This may include spinal adjustments, extremity adjustments and trigger point myotherapy.  Your visits are interactive, so you can ask questions about your care at any time. You will receive periodic re-examinations to monitor your progress.  Should you present on your initial  visit with a very acute issue, the doctors will do their best to fit you in on the same day as your new patient visit for your initial adjustment.
