Dr. Smiesko is a recent graduate of Parker University in Dallas, Texas and completed her B.S. in Biology at Penn State University. Although she had been enjoying living in the warm weather in the south, she is not a new face to the area or our office.
Dr. Smiesko grew up in Pittsburgh and started at Health Horizons as a patient in 2009 and later became an assistant in our office. She loved chiropractic so much that she knew it was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life!
While in college, Dr. Smiesko became certified in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). This technique focuses on restoring normal pelvic function and biomechanics, which are vital during pregnancy. Additionally, she holds an advanced proficiency certification in Activator Technique that covers spine and extremity conditions. She has also been an active member of the Professional Baseball and Football Chiropractic Societies and has learned various methods to better serve athletes.
While completing her year of clinical requirements, Dr. Smiesko was chosen to be a part of the chiropractic team at the Dallas VA Hospital. The Dallas VA is the most competitive and highly sought after internship offered at Parker University due to the experience that is gained from the complex cases and high patient volume encountered. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, outdoor activities, volleyball, snuggling with her cat and watching all Pittsburgh sports. Chirodirectory Profile
